book tips

I read Billy Elliot. It was really good and a good character. Billy's father wants him to become a great boxer. Billy himself has other plans and want to start dancing ballet instead. Billy's mother passed away a few years ago so his father have brought him and his brother on their farm.

It is a really good book with many emotions. You want his father to understand that he really did not want to box but he does not want to face it, ballet is not for men like him. Then he saw his son as a wimp. His father had been a box pro, he wanted his son would also continue in his footsteps.

I thought it was a bit weird text and their pronunciation was rather trite they always said "bloody hell" and it became quite annoyed with it. But it was a good book that i recommend to you to read!

Emma, Malin and Allis evalution

We really liked the e-twinning because we get to know the other schools and to see what they are doing and how they celebrates christmas and stuffs like that. It was really instructive and fun.

In the beginning we worked with this a lot and after Christmas we didn't do it quite often. We had the task each week to go in and read and comment on their blogs. We have not been so good at commenting ;)

Have a VERY NICE SUMMER everybody! / Emma, Malin and Allis

Evaluation of e-twinning

We think that the e-twinning-project was interesting and most of all instructive. It was interesting to hear about what teenagers in other countries was up to and to get an overall perspective of their daily rounds. One thing we missed in this project was that we weren't really allowed to write freely and didn't get to read about the things that we thought would be more fun to get to know about. We would have enjoyed more facts about what they had done "this" weekend and stuff like that. Because, I mean, just because you don't write about one specific subject it doesn't mean that you can't write as advanced as if you were.
That's about all we have to say for us about this assignment.
Best regards Anna and Fanny W.L

Evaluation

We think it has been good and instructive. We worked with the blog mostly at the beginning of the year, but it turn out to be not so much at the end.
It was good that the other students from other countries read the posts on the blog. Then you get a good clearance to write understandable Engl
ish. It was fun to read and learn about how to celebrate holidays in other cultures. It was also interesting to see how well the students in Poland and Belgium is in English.
On the whole it was a good project, we think:D

Evaulation

By using this concept we have learnt to write alot in English and how teenagers in other countries live. It was fun to see how different our lifestyles are especially the school system. The rules are more strict than ours.

It was a fun and different way to learn English,I hope you also think so.

Have a good summer wishes Linda, Jennifer, Frida och Jonna.

E-twinning evaluation

This project we've done with other schools around Europe has taught us a lot. It was very interesting to have a view in other countries culture. The most fun part about the project was to write comments on all the other school blogs and to get comments on our own blog. There was nothing boring about this project, but if we have to choose one thing about it that was the least fun that would have to be that the other schools didn't comment as much on our blog as we did on theirs. E-twinning is a fun way to learn English!

Have a gr8 summer vacation everybody!

Do not litter!

Hey!

Our class were instructed by our teacher to make a movie that was about something that is good for our environment. Since the summer begins to be here and people start to eat much ice cream, Joel, Maja, Jonna, Malin, Johan and Gustav decided to make it clear how important it is for the environment that you throw the plastic cup in the trash when you´re done.

Let´s enjoy the summer and the holiday, without any litter :)

Fever pitch

Hi, I’ve been reeding a book called ”Fever pitch” By Nick Hornby.

It’s a book about a guy who loves scoccer, he lives with his mother in her sisters house, his parents got a divorse in the summer of ’63.

He did not loved soccer from the start, he even passed when his father asked him to join and watch the FA cup final!

He’s a great fan of Arsenal.

When he’s about 20 years old, he fell in love with this one girl, who also likes soccer, but not as much as him!

I would definitely recommend this book! I mean, if you like soccer and want to read a funny book, reed fever pitch!

Book tip!

I've recently read a book about John Lennon's life. Appropriately the books name is "John". If you are a Beatles or John Lennon fan you should definitely read this. It's written by his first wife. She wrote it to give the world her part of the story about their well-known marriage. And it's kind of surprising to read it beacause John wasn't really the guy you think he was.

Book tip

I´ve read a book named Boy and it's written by Roald Dahl.
The book is a autobiography by Roald Dahl and he is telling us about the most remembered stories from his childhood.
The book was really boring because it wasn´t interesting and it had no action in it.

The soccer program

At the soccer program the pupils learn by theory and practice to evolve goals to cooperate and practice leadership. The soccer program is a 3-year-long course. The goal is that every participating student will develop as a player and get a

bigger understanding of the sport.
The trainings are held in the morning so that you will have the time to recover until the practise you have with your team.
During the winter we have our training with the soccer program indoors in “arcus”.

The Host by Stephenie Meyer

The Earth has been taken over by another kind of beings. More or less all human beings are gone. Yes, i know it sounds a little complicated, but the truth is that this book just becomes more and more exciting after every chapter. Seriously, this book is fairly addictive!

I really hope you guys liked my book tip /Rebecca

Booktip

I've read the book Twillight by Stephanie Meyer. I would not recommend the book to a person that has problems getting into the plot. The first 50 pages of the book is pretty boring but after that it always happens new exciting things. The author writes in a way that makes you able to make a bit of the story yourself.
I like the main characters alot, they make a perfect couple with a twist of deadly danger and sweet romance through the whole story.

Sweet 16

Right now I am sitting on the train and reading a pink, girly book. The title of the book is called Sweet 16, it´s about the twin celeberties Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. Sweet 16 I can recomend to a person who doesn't like to dig into a story, this is a book you just can read without thinking. I think it's a great feeling. The book is about how they plan their sweet 16 birthday and all the problems that come up. The book is not so extreme, it is just a ordinary lifestyle.

Fever Pitch - Nick Hornby

I'm reading the book "Fever Pitch. It's about a boy who lives with his father becouse his parents had a divorce a couple of years ago. He like to go at fotball matches when his favourite team Arsenal plays. In the book he writes about his life as a young fanatic fotball fan.
He is a faithful fan for over 10 years, from a age of 12 to 25. When he was about 20 years old he got a girlfriend who also likes to go to football like him.
When he had been a fan in 5 years he also
start caring about the state of the team is, if the players had injuries etc.

I do
not recommend this book because I think it was a bit boring.

//Mattias

My book tip is "A man named Dave" and it´s the third book in a serie of books. To read the third book you needto have reddened the two books before the third to understand it. In the third book you get to read a little bit about how he got brutally abused by his mother when he was young, but in the biggest parts of the book he tells how he got back on track. He gets to move to a foster home and he gets along relly well with his foster parents. When he gets older he decides to make something of him self. We get to follow his journey to his success.

I think that all his books ir really good. I just get stucked in them. So I definitley recommendn these books.

Boy - Roald Dahl

I'm reading "Boy" by Roald Dahl.
Roald is telling about his childhood memories, about how he grew up and about his family. I've read about half the book, and I have to say I don't think it's good at all. I cant see anything special with it, it feels like anybody could write a book like this about once childhood memories.
It might be a good book for learning English, but I dont think you guys should read it anyway, sorry. Find another education material, with a better story.

New Moon by Stephanie Meyer

I've been reading a book called "New Moon" It's the second installament of Stephanie Meyers Twilight series. The book is about Bella the mortal and Edward the vampire and the love and connection between them. You get to follow Bella most of the book while she is going deeper and deeper into the mysteries of the supernatural worlds. I havn't read so much of the book yet but so far I really like it, but you should read the first book "Twilight" first so you'll understand this one better.

Boy by Roald Dahl

I'm reading the book "Boy" , written by Roald Dahl. I haven't read so much of the book so I don't know so much about it.

Roald father and sister died just a few mounth after eachother .
His mother and all the children moved to England so Roald could go in a boarding school there. His mother used to take all the children to Norway, wich is the parents' home country.
"Boy" is about Roald and his memories from his childhood. "Some har funny and some are paintful" said Roald Dahl.

More Than You Know

Right now I'm reading the book more than you know, it’s a book written by Beth Gutcheon. The book is about the main character Hannah Gray, her half-brother Stephen and her stepmother Edith, who moves into an old schoolhouse in Dundee. Hannah is moving into adulthood and doesn’t get along with her stepmother and she has almost no contact with her father who is working in another city. The stepmother-stepdaughter conflict gets deeper when Edith doesn't believe Hannah as she notice that the house is haunted . When Hannah meet the handsome guy Conary Crocker who immediately confirmes the ghost theories with a story about a real human destiny and a murder long time ago in Dundee. Hannah understands that she is not weird and not alone…Book tip

I think that the book is very interesting. According to me the book was well written and kind of special.

Winners by Mary Ellen Lang Collura

The book winners is whritten by Mary Ellen Lang Collura.
It is about Jordy who has gone in and out of foster homes since his mother was killed and his grandfather prisoned for murder.

Now Jordy is going to live with him (since Joe has done his sentence), on an Indian reservoir. When he arrives, it is with mixed feelings. Jordy is curious of his ancestors and his cultural heritage, but he is also very affected by his turbulent childhood and adolescence. After a while, in which he tries to run away, gets into fights and grow a strong hate towards white racists, Jordy finds comfort in a horse which is given to him by the representative from The Department of Indian Affairs in Christmas present.

I think this book is quite okey so far but I think Mary whrites little to mouch about the horse...

tears of the giraffe, Alexander McCall Smith

I've been reading a book called tears of the giraffe. It is one of many books in "The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency" series. The series contains 10 books. In each one you get to follow Precious Ramotswe who is the owner of the agency and the detective.

In tears of the giraffe Precious is solving a case with an american man who is missing. You also get to follow her life and get to know the people in it.

So far I think the book is okey.

The upper secondary school

The upper secondary school is voluntary but necessary. In Sweden we have a school system that is supposed to prepare us for further studies and different kinds of work.
You can choose different programs depending on your interests. There are about 17 national programmes. The most common theoretical programme we have is, social science and natural science and two of our most common practical programmes are, construction and hotel and restaurant. In the different programmes you read different courses. Some of them are compulsory and some you can pick from a selection.

Our school offers every student lunch for free every day so you don’t need to bring your own. It’s not always so tasty but it’s eatable.

The Snapper

Right now I´m reading the book ”The Snapper”, written by Roddy Doyle. It´s interesting to follow the pregnant 19-year-old girl Sharon’s life. She got pregnant when she was drunk at a party and she refuses to tell anyone who the father is.
The language in the book is the same as you can hear in the pubs in and around Dublin were all the dialogs are written in dialects. At the beginning it was a little bit confusing, but after a while you started to recognize all the words so now they don´t bother me any more.
If my review sounds inviting, this is the book for you!

Go ask Alice, anonymous

I have been reading the book "Go ask Alice". It's about a girl who starts to take drugs. The first time she took drugs was at a party. She didn't know that she had the drug in her blood. It was a friend that was putting it in her drink. She loved every feeling. After that she became addicted.

In the book you follow her almost ever day because she's writing a diary. In the diary she's writing about her feelings and cravings for drugs.

I recommend this book a lot, because it's a true story.

/Linda

Book tip!

Breaking dawn is the last book of the twilight series. It's a very good and exciting book. It is the end of the series and it is definitely worth reading. But to really understand what is happening and why it's happening you should have read the first three books that are named Twilight, New moon and Eclipse. This book is much about the wedding and transformation. I thought the book was well written and it was easy to understand the language. I recommend this book for everyone who loves hot vampires!

Individual Sports

If you like you can choose to have an individual sport such as golf, tennis and gymnastics. If you do you'll get the opportunity to practice during school hours.

But you still have the ordinary subjects like math and english. At the firts year all studies the same subjects. Then you'll get to chose between different kinds of educations, for example General Science or civics. After that, all you got to do is to study for two more years.

Breaking dawn

I've read the book Breaking dawn by Stephenie Meyer.
Breaking dawn is the fourth and last book in the series of the twilight saga.
I think the book is great and I highly recommend it. Though I don't think that boys will have the same appreciation for the book (or the series for that matter) like a lot of girls seem to have. I thought the book was well written and that you got really caught up in it.
The dialogues in the book can sometimes seem kind of ancient, I mean, in real life you don't really talk like some of them. At least not I do! But if anyone can find One single book, where everyone can feel at home with the language in the dialogues, then please, let me know. Because that task seems kind of impossible to me.
Overall, the book was really good and as I said earlier I highly recommend it.

Social Science programme

The social science programme is a good programme that prepare you to study after upper secondary school. You must be aware that studies in social science program does not automatically lead to a profession or a specific education. This means that with education as the basic need to create their own picture of the future.

The programme is specialized in history, society, philosophy and religion. At the programme you learn how the community is working, how it its progressing, and how it´s moving forward. You also learn how to process from historical and international perspective. The language is a important part to learn at the programme. So you can communicate and process better in the community. At the programme you practise to work together in groups, learn to project your talking and writing capacity.

The national program consists of courses. Some courses are compulsory for all who study at secondary school, some courses are specific to the program and some courses you choose by your self.

Outdoor School is a great choice when you can choose to view the recreational, natural or social orientation. By going open-air gymnasium, you can get the same powers to go "normal" natural or social sciences settled here combine theoretical studies with practical courses that provide a broad knowledge in many different areas.
The first year in this program you go on a trip to Kebne Mountain Tours a mountain hike in the fall for all grades in the open air makes you get to know their classmates and make friends for life. Upper Secondary School – Physical Education (Health and wellness)

We are going to write an short text about our program. This is a program focusing on sports, but we are focusing on our direction in the program. When you apply for the PE program you can choose between six different directions, Health and Wellness, Hockey, Basketball, Football, Individual sports or Outdoor life.

We have chosen Health and Wellness which is a program where you get a chance to exercise on schooltime. We try many different activities like yoga, bodypump, aerobics and just fitness in overall.
We have those lessons twice a week which is only with the students that have chosen health and wellness, other than that we have a normal PE lesson with our class. All the students that have chosen this direction has been split up with students from other directions like basketball etc. This makes the classes a bit mixed and you get to know new people.

This education goes over three years, the first year you go through the basics. The second year it's a bit harder and more advanced than the first year and you need to work harder. During the third year we go more in about the leadership. You learn how to lead groups through activities.
Another thing that only we on Health and Wellness have that other PE's don't is Nutrition facts where we learn what food is good and what everything consists of.
