Booktip

I've read the book Twillight by Stephanie Meyer. I would not recommend the book to a person that has problems getting into the plot. The first 50 pages of the book is pretty boring but after that it always happens new exciting things. The author writes in a way that makes you able to make a bit of the story yourself.
I like the main characters alot, they make a perfect couple with a twist of deadly danger and sweet romance through the whole story.

Sweet 16

Right now I am sitting on the train and reading a pink, girly book. The title of the book is called Sweet 16, it´s about the twin celeberties Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. Sweet 16 I can recomend to a person who doesn't like to dig into a story, this is a book you just can read without thinking. I think it's a great feeling. The book is about how they plan their sweet 16 birthday and all the problems that come up. The book is not so extreme, it is just a ordinary lifestyle.

Fever Pitch - Nick Hornby

I'm reading the book "Fever Pitch. It's about a boy who lives with his father becouse his parents had a divorce a couple of years ago. He like to go at fotball matches when his favourite team Arsenal plays. In the book he writes about his life as a young fanatic fotball fan.
He is a faithful fan for over 10 years, from a age of 12 to 25. When he was about 20 years old he got a girlfriend who also likes to go to football like him.
When he had been a fan in 5 years he also
start caring about the state of the team is, if the players had injuries etc.

I do
not recommend this book because I think it was a bit boring.

//Mattias

My book tip is "A man named Dave" and it´s the third book in a serie of books. To read the third book you needto have reddened the two books before the third to understand it. In the third book you get to read a little bit about how he got brutally abused by his mother when he was young, but in the biggest parts of the book he tells how he got back on track. He gets to move to a foster home and he gets along relly well with his foster parents. When he gets older he decides to make something of him self. We get to follow his journey to his success.

I think that all his books ir really good. I just get stucked in them. So I definitley recommendn these books.

Boy - Roald Dahl

I'm reading "Boy" by Roald Dahl.
Roald is telling about his childhood memories, about how he grew up and about his family. I've read about half the book, and I have to say I don't think it's good at all. I cant see anything special with it, it feels like anybody could write a book like this about once childhood memories.
It might be a good book for learning English, but I dont think you guys should read it anyway, sorry. Find another education material, with a better story.

New Moon by Stephanie Meyer

I've been reading a book called "New Moon" It's the second installament of Stephanie Meyers Twilight series. The book is about Bella the mortal and Edward the vampire and the love and connection between them. You get to follow Bella most of the book while she is going deeper and deeper into the mysteries of the supernatural worlds. I havn't read so much of the book yet but so far I really like it, but you should read the first book "Twilight" first so you'll understand this one better.

The stepmother-stepdaughter conflict gets deeper when Edith doesn't believe Hannah as she notice that the house is haunted . When Hannah meet the handsome guy Conary Crocker who immediately confirmes the ghost theories with a story about a real human destiny and a murder long time ago in Dundee. Hannah understands that she is not weird and not alone…Book tip

I think that the book is very interesting. According to me the book was well written and kind of special.

Winners by Mary Ellen Lang Collura

The book winners is whritten by Mary Ellen Lang Collura.
It is about Jordy who has gone in and out of foster homes since his mother was killed and his grandfather prisoned for murder.

Now Jordy is going to live with him (since Joe has done his sentence), on an Indian reservoir. When he arrives, it is with mixed feelings. Jordy is curious of his ancestors and his cultural heritage, but he is also very affected by his turbulent childhood and adolescence. After a while, in which he tries to run away, gets into fights and grow a strong hate towards white racists, Jordy finds comfort in a horse which is given to him by the representative from The Department of Indian Affairs in Christmas present.

I think this book is quite okey so far but I think Mary whrites little to mouch about the horse...

tears of the giraffe, Alexander McCall Smith

I've been reading a book called tears of the giraffe. It is one of many books in "The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency" series. The series contains 10 books. In each one you get to follow Precious Ramotswe who is the owner of the agency and the detective.

In tears of the giraffe Precious is solving a case with an american man who is missing. You also get to follow her life and get to know the people in it.

So far I think the book is okey.

The upper secondary school

The upper secondary school is voluntary but necessary. In Sweden we have a school system that is supposed to prepare us for further studies and different kinds of work.
You can choose different programs depending on your interests. There are about 17 national programmes. The most common theoretical programme we have is, social science and natural science and two of our most common practical programmes are, construction and hotel and restaurant. In the different programmes you read different courses. Some of them are compulsory and some you can pick from a selection.

Our school offers every student lunch for free every day so you don’t need to bring your own. It’s not always so tasty but it’s eatable.

The Snapper

Right now I´m reading the book ”The Snapper”, written by Roddy Doyle. It´s interesting to follow the pregnant 19-year-old girl Sharon’s life. She got pregnant when she was drunk at a party and she refuses to tell anyone who the father is.
The language in the book is the same as you can hear in the pubs in and around Dublin were all the dialogs are written in dialects. At the beginning it was a little bit confusing, but after a while you started to recognize all the words so now they don´t bother me any more.
If my review sounds inviting, this is the book for you!

Go ask Alice, anonymous

I have been reading the book "Go ask Alice". It's about a girl who starts to take drugs. The first time she took drugs was at a party. She didn't know that she had the drug in her blood. It was a friend that was putting it in her drink. She loved every feeling. After that she became addicted.

In the book you follow her almost ever day because she's writing a diary. In the diary she's writing about her feelings and cravings for drugs.

I recommend this book a lot, because it's a true story.

Book tip!

Breaking dawn is the last book of the twilight series. It's a very good and exciting book. It is the end of the series and it is definitely worth reading. But to really understand what is happening and why it's happening you should have read the first three books that are named Twilight, New moon and Eclipse. This book is much about the wedding and transformation. I thought the book was well written and it was easy to understand the language. I recommend this book for everyone who loves hot vampires!

Individual Sports

If you like you can choose to have an individual sport such as golf, tennis and gymnastics. If you do you'll get the opportunity to practice during school hours.

But you still have the ordinary subjects like math and english. At the firts year all studies the same subjects. Then you'll get to chose between different kinds of educations, for example General Science or civics. After that, all you got to do is to study for two more years.

Breaking dawn

I've read the book Breaking dawn by Stephenie Meyer.
Breaking dawn is the fourth and last book in the series of the twilight saga.
I think the book is great and I highly recommend it. Though I don't think that boys will have the same appreciation for the book (or the series for that matter) like a lot of girls seem to have. I thought the book was well written and that you got really caught up in it.
The dialogues in the book can sometimes seem kind of ancient, I mean, in real life you don't really talk like some of them. At least not I do! But if anyone can find One single book, where everyone can feel at home with the language in the dialogues, then please, let me know. Because that task seems kind of impossible to me.
Overall, the book was really good and as I said earlier I highly recommend it.

Social Science programme

The social science programme is a good programme that prepare you to study after upper secondary school. You must be aware that studies in social science program does not automatically lead to a profession or a specific education. This means that with education as the basic need to create their own picture of the future.

The programme is specialized in history, society, philosophy and religion. At the programme you learn how the community is working, how it its progressing, and how it´s moving forward. You also learn how to process from historical and international perspective. The language is a important part to learn at the programme. So you can communicate and process better in the community. At the programme you practise to work together in groups, learn to project your talking and writing capacity.

The national program consists of courses. Some courses are compulsory for all who study at secondary school, some courses are specific to the program and some courses you choose by your self.
