Upper Secondary School – Physical Education (Health and wellness)

We are going to write an short text about our program. This is a program focusing on sports, but we are focusing on our direction in the program. When you apply for the PE program you can choose between six different directions, Health and Wellness, Hockey, Basketball, Football, Individual sports or Outdoor life.

We have chosen Health and Wellness which is a program where you get a chance to exercise on schooltime. We try many different activities like yoga, bodypump, aerobics and just fitness in overall.
We have those lessons twice a week which is only with the students that have chosen health and wellness, other than that we have a normal PE lesson with our class. All the students that have chosen this direction has been split up with students from other directions like basketball etc. This makes the classes a bit mixed and you get to know new people.

This education goes over three years, the first year you go through the basics. The second year it's a bit harder and more advanced than the first year and you need to work harder. During the third year we go more in about the leadership. You learn how to lead groups through activities.
Another thing that only we on Health and Wellness have that other PE's don't is Nutrition facts where we learn what food is good and what everything consists of.
